Testimonial

I am so proud of the little human this program has assisted me to support. I feel as though I can ask the team at PRP for advice on things I feel stuck on as a parent.

Two years ago, I moved to Edmonton. Soon after I found out I was pregnant. I felt hopeless and alone as I had no support network aside from my spouse who worked away a lot. I was alone so much of the time and until I found Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre I felt like I had so much on my shoulders. I was connected with a few programs and support individuals who have made the transition to becoming a mother something to feel excited over and proud of myself for!

One of those programs is the Parent Respite Program.

My daughter has been accessing the PRP program in the exploration room for several months. When she is there, she gains access so many valuable things that most have forgone and lost during the pandemic. She gets to learn and create among and from her peers. She gets to have access to healthy nourishing meals, love and support from an amazing team of educated professionals who I feel safe leaving her with. Every time I leave, she is smiling and happy and when I pick her up it’s the same response. She becomes excited when we walk up to the door to see her baby friends. She has gained both independent and peer play skills far advanced from her age. I am so proud of the little human this program has assisted me to support. I feel as though I can ask the team at PRP for advice on things I feel stuck on as a parent. In turn, this gives me the confidence to try things for myself that I hesitated over or had self-doubt around. We are so lucky to have this program in our life!
