Norwood's early childhood programs provide a creative, positive play environment to support the development of your child’s:

Our program rooms are called 'communities' to include your child as a citizen of their space.

Head Start Program

Tuesday to Friday

September 7 to June 30


9:15 am -12:15 pm 


1:00 pm - 4:00 pm  

Head Start is a school readiness program focused on child development for children three to five years old. 

Program Highlights:

  • free bussing

  • healthy snacks

  • goal setting

  • parent/teacher interviews

  • access to health services

  • speech and language therapy 

  • occupational therapy 

  • family support and referrals to other services


Children must be three (3) years old by December 31 of the year they start the Head Start program.

Parent Respite Program

Tuesday to Friday

Children aged birth to six years old participate in a fun, play-based early learning program while their parents attend appointments, participate in activities, and take care of themselves.


Program Highlights:

  • healthy meals and snacks

  • parent and family support

  • referrals to other services
