What we do

Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre (Norwood) has been a community hub for children and families since 1963. Norwood responds to a wide variety of family circumstances and provides free, culturally diverse programming throughout Edmonton. We nurture trusting relationships, empower families to access resources and services, and support optimal child development.

Norwood is a safe gathering place that brings individuals together with a focus on prevention and early intervention to support healthy, well-functioning families.

Early Childhood Programs

Norwood provides programs that strengthen and build the lives of children and their families.

We support the development of children’s:

  • social skills

  • physical skills

  • language skills

  • intellectual skills

  • creative skills

  • emotional skills

Our program rooms are called 'communities' to include children as citizens of their spaces. They provide children with creative, positive play environments in which to build their skills.

While children are in programs, parents can meet with Norwood staff, attend parent education groups, or go to other appointments. Families who have a child in Norwood programs can access family support.
