It's official!
Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre has surpassed its 2011 United Way Campaign Goal of $5000.00.
Am I surprised? Not really. I mean, every year for the past three or four years I have increased our goal, and every year staff do whatever it takes to meet or exceed that goal. They understand the importance of the United Way and will do whatever it takes to make any type of investment.
Am I proud and overjoyed? Absolutely. Initially raising the goal I thought, “we are a staff of 35, how much more can we contribute?” Well, Norwood is not an Agency to be underestimated! Every year that the goal has been increased, we meet or exceed that goal. This is HUGE considering every year we have a handful of new/er staff, but every year we all continue to learn more about how our investments make a difference as well as gain a better understanding of the United Way and its purpose.
To realize that people’s lives, or your own life for that matter, can change in an instant is scary. However, to know that if you reach out, somewhere within the city, there is someone, some place, that can offer you the support you need is amazing. How great it is to be a part of the CHANGE.
Final 2011 United Way Investment: $7546.70
